You are not lacking

Meditations For Your Week

Sunday, February 2 ~ Saturday, February 8, 2020

Sunday: “Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the will of God, and our brother, Sosthenes.” 1 Corinthians 1:1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit who is calling new followers of Jesus.  Paul followed Jesus, by the will of God.  May God’s way be known.

Monday: “To the church of God that is in Corinth to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus to be saints, together with all those in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours.” 1 Corinthians 1: 2.  Pray for our local church, our community of churches, as well as churches around the world.  May we each together, be sanctified, made holy as we call upon the name of Jesus.

Tuesday: “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Corinthians 1: 3. Pray for grace and peace for those who feel disconnected from God’s very presence.  May they know grace and peace.

Wednesday: “I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been give you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Corinthians 1:4.  Pray for our governmental officials, not because of who they are, but because of who God is.  Pray that they will experience that grace of God that has been given in Christ Jesus.

Thursday: “For in every way, you have been enriched in him in speech and knowledge of every kind, just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you.”  1 Corinthians 1:5-6.  Consider that God is already enriching and preparing you for what comes next.  Pray for patience to be present in this chapter, even as you await the giving of the testimony in the next chapter.

Friday: “So that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Corinthians 1: 7.  Where do you feel you are lacking?  Who are you partnering with as you wait for coming of the kingdom?   Together, God gives you all that you need.

Saturday: “God will strength you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God is faithful; by God you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” 1 Corinthians 1: 8-9.  God’s work through us is good.  Pray for Holy Spirit and a tender heart to follow.
