Nursery

It is an honor for parents to trust their most precious asset in the world to our church nursery.  Our goal is to give parents an opportunity to spend time in worship while their children are being cared for in a safe and loving environment.  We also enjoy having our little ones stay in worship with us if that is your desire.

We offer a Nut Free Nursery for children birth – 4 years.  The nursery is available during all worship services and also during the Sunday School hour.

Policies and Procedures

WGUMC provides secure and loving childcare for your infants and toddlers during all weekend church services and during many church sponsored events.

The nursery is run by thoroughly screened staff and volunteers.

The age limit for the nursery is 4 years old.  Once a child reaches 4 years of age, they are encouraged to participate in Sunday School, children’s worship or attend worship with their parents.

Parents must sign their child in and out.  Please notify the attendant if someone else is to pick up your child.

Bring necessary supplies for your child and please label everything with your child’s name.  Please do not pack any snacks that contain nuts.

Snacks may be available for toddlers.  If you do not want your child to have a snack, please indicate on the sign-in sheet.

Please let the nursery attendant know of any special instructions (i.e. allergies, potty training, physical or mental needs).

Health Precautions – No sick children, please!  This includes any of the following symptoms:

  • Child has vomited in the last 24 hours.
  • Child has temperature of 100 or higher.
  • Child has a runny nose with green mucus.
  • Child has had severe diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
  • Child has been exposed to a contagious disease (i.e., chicken pox, measles, etc.)

We are proud to have a Safe Sanctuaries Policy in place at West Grove UMC.  Safe Sanctuaries is how we make our congregation a safe place where children, youth, and vulnerable adults may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith.
