God's Little Helpers

Every summer, our church holds Vacation Bible School. It is open to everyone in the community. We have children ranging in age from Preschool to Fifth grade. It is always a wonderful week. The last two years we have challenged the children with thought provoking questions. Because their answers are so dear and often so insightful, we want to share their responses.

Show the world your Beach Be-attitude!

This year children focused on the Beach Be-attitudes. These five attitudes remind children how important it is to Be Kind, Be Obedient, Be Forgiving, Be Bold, and Believe. They learned that these attitudes are attitudes of ACTION. You can't just sit still and say, "Okay, I'm Kind now." Kindness is something you do, it's an action. The children were asked to think of things they can DO, to share their Be-attitudes.

An 11th Commandment: For today's kids

The 10 Commandments are God's rules to live by, and certainly don't need to be improved upon. But, if God were to appear before you and ask for your advise for one more commandment - a commandment that would help kids be better people, what would you suggest?

Trying to think of a Good Deed?

Our children have been asked to find ways that they can share kindness every day. Often we think of sharing kindness as doing a good deed. It's something that makes you feel good inside and it usually puts a smile on someone else's face. It is our hope that these ideas from children will inspire your children to discover ways they can help God by helping others.
