Courageous Dialogue Meetings

Courageous Dialogues

Please join us the next two Monday evenings at 7PM in the sanctuary for a time of Courageous Dialogue where we take time to share our journey of faith in the midst of the challenges we are experiencing in the United Methodist Church.  In Matthew 18:15-20 Jesus encourages us to speak with one another face to face, eye to eye and heart to heart, and not avoid one another when we have issues. It leads to much stronger fellowship and friendships when we do. It often requires us to entrust ourselves more fully to God as we share. This Monday we will look at several scriptures that are foundational for us to have a strong church in fellowship together. We trust God and God’s creativity in grace to lead us to live faithfully, willing to be more curious in getting to know one another better, over making condemnations of other people.

God is a mystery, and also has made Himself accessible to us, and we model His vulnerability in the ways we create and share our hearts together in fellowship. This Monday we lay the ground work for coming together and how we relate. I’ll communicate some basics of how the UMC has come to this point, and how we look to go forward, and at our second meeting, next Monday, January 30, we will invite a sharing of our stories that helps one another understand more fully what we have experienced in life, that leads us to believe and understand as we do. A link to the Covenant we will follow as a guide is here below. The original resolution presented and passed at Annual Conference is available on our Conference website.

Church is a place God intends for us to take part in where we can be open with one another and learn, grow, mature together. We look forward to the ways God will express His grace and love to us and our world, and are blessed to be part of it. If you have any additional questions or would like to speak more in person with me, pastor Tim, please hear the invitation to meet, and we can arrange a time.
