The Ducks and Turtles Teachers

Natalie Eason  I am a West Chester University Graduate.  I have been a part of the CMO staff since 2010.  I am involved in our community by volunteering in the Avon Grove Schools, Jennersville Y, and WGUMC.  I feel blessed to be a part of CMO and able to be a part of many families lives over the years.  I embrace the chance to watch these children grow outward as well as inward.

Maira Tena  My name is Maira Tena and I live in Avondale with my husband, daughter and twin sons.  I have been an assistant teacher in the CMO program since 2009.  I also have worked at this church for 16 years as the nursery attendant and I provide child care for special church events.  I am fluent in Spanish and Sign Language.  I really enjoy working at the CMO and I look forward to working with your children.

The Ladybug Teacher

 Samantha Lingenfelter  My name is Samantha Lingenfelter and I am so very excited to be teaching the Ladybugs.  I am the mom of 3 kids; a 3rdgrade boy, 1st grade girl, and 4-year-old girl in the Frogs class. My husband and I grew up in Maryland and have called OK, IL, and MO home over the past 8 years. My background is in Special Education and I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, plus teaching certifications in MD, IL and MO. I have worked in education in many different roles, most recently teaching preschool in Columbia, MO. I am so excited for the opportunity to get back into the classroom!! Preschool is such a fun age with so much growth and development! I know your children have grown so much already and I’m excited to see how they continue to grow throughout the remainder of the year!

Michelle Smith  My name is Michelle Smith and I and so excited to be the  assistant teacher in the Ladybug room! My family and I moved to West Grove about five years after living in Secane, Delaware County most of my life. I was the assistant and lead teacher for the three year old class at Miss Annette’s Creative Nursery and Kindergarten for two years and lead teacher in the two year old class for a year while pursuing my degree in Nursing. I was a Pediatric Nurse at Crozer Chester Medical center for 6 years and then decided to take some time off to raise my children, Jack a freshman in college, Maddy 6th grade, and Maxwell 1st grade. I am excited to be given this opportunity to help your children learn and grow! 

 

 

The Bumble Bee and Honey Bee Teachers

April Stoltzfus  Hi, my name is April Stoltzfus, and I am one of the Bee Teachers. I love teaching at WGUMC and have been blessed to be part of the preschool since 2014.  I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and have been working with young children for over fifteen years.  I live in Lincoln University with my wonderful husband David, and our three children.  I am also a member at the Christian Life Center, where I teach in Kidzone and help with VBS.

Gina Bechtel  Hi, my name is Gina Bechtel, and I am an assistant teacher in the Bee class.  I have loved being a part of the CMO community since 2013.  I feel fortunate to have gone from a preschool parent, to a substitute at CMO and now an assistant teacher.  Before children, I taught middle school Health and Physical Education in Maryland for nine years.  I live in West Grove with my husband, Rick and our two boys.  I am passionate about CMO’s play-based educational philosophy and look forward to watching your little ones grow.

 

The Leap Frog Teachers

Jennifer Smith  I am one of the Frog teachers.  This is my sixth year teaching in this preschool program.  This is a position I have really enjoyed.  Before coming to the CMO/Preschool, I worked part time as a Youth Enrichment Instructor at our YMCA for 5 years.  I taught art and cooking to preschool aged children.  I am originally from Montreal and graduated from Concordia University there. I have a great husband and three wonderful kids.  It is because of them that I truly realized how much I love being with kids and love preparing fun and educational activities.

Laura Chandler  My name is Laura Chandler and I am joining the Frog classroom this year!  I’m really excited to be a part of WGUMC-CMO as both a parent and a teacher.  I live in Avondale with my Husband Chris, our 4-year-old twin daughters Kylie and Madelyn, our dog Bear and our Bearded Dragon Lizard Belle.  I have a BS in Human Services from Elon University and enjoy working with children of all ages.   I have been home with my twins for the past 4 years and am thrilled to be back in the classroom.

The Butterfly Class

  • Heather Smalley– My name is Heather Smalley and I am thrilled to be in the classroom with our Butterfly class! I am a graduate of West Chester University with a degree in Elementary Education. Before I had my children, I taught in an elementary classroom for 15 years and earned my Master’s Degree from Widener University. I look forward to creating a warm, nurturing environment that stimulates development, learning, and creativity. I believe in the importance of providing an environment where children learn about the world around them and grow in experiences which they can draw upon as they continue to progress and move forward. When I am not at school, I love most to spend time with my husband, our 2 children, & our 2 dogs! I also have been teaching yoga for over 12 years and more recently, barre classes.
  • MaryAlice Miller-Hello, My name is MaryAlice Miller. I am so excited for another year working with the Butterflies. I have had the privilege of working with children for the last 15 years in many different capacities. After graduating from college I accepted a position as a pre-school teacher in Montgomery County Pa. I had a fantastic experience teaching children ages 1-3 years old for several years. Today, I also work at the Jennersville YMCA as the head swim coach. My favorite part about teaching is seeing your child’s laughter, growth, and love of learning throughout the year. I look forward to helping your amazing children.

 

Director of WGUMC CMO and Preschool

Tracy McLaughlin  Hi!  My name is Tracy McLaughlin and I am the Director of our CMO and Preschool program.  I had been one of the preschool teachers since the Fall of 2010 and became director of the program in the Fall of 2013.  I have a background in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education.  I love working with the children and families of our program to make this a wonderful experience for them.  When I am not busy with my preschool family, you will find me enjoying time with my husband, two children, and our dogs.  I enjoy reading, being outdoors and especially love Disney!!
