While I’ve spent many hours volunteering in my own children’s classrooms, 2022-2023 marks my first school year working as a teacher. I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Penn State, and prior to moving to London Grove with my husband and then staying home for several years with our daughter and son, I worked as a writer and editor for a daily newspaper. I enjoy leading my daughter’s Girl Scout troop, watching my kids on the stage and field and spending time with my family (which includes our beloved Cavalier King Charles spaniel) and friends.

Director of WGUMC CMO and Preschool

Abbie Gruscavage Hello, I’m Abbie Gruscavage and I am so happy to be the Director of our wonderful CMO program here at WGUMC! I graduated from WCU with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and from Goucher College with my master’s in Elementary Education. I taught second grade in Baltimore for 9 years before having my children. The CMO program is very near and dear to my heart as my three children started their early childhood days here at the Preschool. I continued on from a preschool parent, to a teacher here, and now I’m lucky enough to work alongside of all of our wonderful teachers as the Director. I couldn’t ask for a better job than watching the children learn and thrive through play!
